I wanted to get a post up all about contouring because when I posted my Makeup Routine- Face Edition I had a lot of questions about contouring and people asking me to go a little bit more in depth. Basically, contouring brings the high points of your face forward and adds a shadow to the parts of your face that should be receded. On a day to day basis I do not contour, I usually highlight under my eyes and add bronzer everywhere else. I only really contour if I am going out and want to look my best or if I know my picture is being taken. This is wayyy too much work for me to do everyday! I am going to try to explain what I personally do to contour and break everything down for you.. I also found picture on Pinterest that is super easy to follow and I figured it could help.
First thing I do when contouring is apply my highlight. I use my Maybeline Fit Me concealer in Light. I applied it under my eyes, forehead, the bridge of my nose, cupids bow, and chin. The pictures above are good pictures to follow! I use the small end of my damp Beauty Blender to tap out my product.
This is what your completed contour should look like..
Now that your contour is finished the last 2 steps are blush and highlight. I add blush to the apples of my cheeks using a blush brush and a highlighter right above the blush (on your cheek bones) and above my brow bone using a large fan brush. The blush I used was from the ELF blush palette in light, I used the darkest shade and the highlighter is used was Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light.
Here is my final look! The lighting was a little off so I look pretty pale.. it looks better in person, I promise! I hope this helps those of you with questions! I also wanted to add my opinion of the Too Faced contour kit. I really love this kit. I bought the Lorac Contour kit first and ended up returning it for this one! I love the powders in it and the brush, the colors are awesome and the pigmentation is amazing, it also blends out very nice! It even comes with a how-to guide that is really helpful! The only thing I don't like is the 'pop of light' color in it.. it is one of the high lights and it has glitter in it, I don't like highlighting with glitter and that's the only reason why I don't use it.
